I first met David when he was supporting Showcase events sponsored by NHS England to promote the General Practice Forward View in 2016/17. He was very ably promoting the importance of effective care navigation and the need to train receptionists and other practice staff to care navigate effectively and safely.
David joined our faculty in 2019, becoming one of our Development Advisers (DA). At that time we were delivering the Time for Care programme, working with practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to implement the 10 High Impact Actions for General Practice. David’s responsibilities included building relationships with potential client Clinical Commissioning Groups. These relationships have survived the transition to Integrated Care Boards and continue to be used to promote the work of the PCTI team.
As a key part of our delivery team David was also responsible for working with PCNs to make changes using quality improvement tools and techniques. During the COVID pandemic David successfully made the shift to working virtually, continuing both with relationship building and delivery of quality improvement.
Since then, David has helped to deliver the Accelerate, Access Improvement and General Practice Improvement programmes for NHS England.
David brought his knowledge and experience of care navigation to bear in helping develop and deliver webinars focussed on process improvement to improve care navigation and to develop a care navigation guide now nationally published.
David always acts with integrity and is generous with his time in supporting others. He goes out of his way to listen and understand other’s needs and to respond appropriately.
I am happy to recommend David.
Yours sincerely
